10 Years of MobileThinking
[2021]

27/08/2024

We are celebrating our 10th anniversary ! 🎉 : the next chapter

Welcome to the next part of the MobileThinking adventure!

This month, we take you straight back to 2021. Another successful year, full of fascinating projects and surprises.

So, are you ready for another trip back in time with your favourite team? Let's get started!

An ever-growing crew

The MobileThinking team continues to grow.

In 2021, we will be welcoming not one, not two, not even three, but four new members of staff! They are Dejan, Fabien, Luka and Jules, each of whom brings a wealth of expertise. Together, they bring a breath of fresh air to our team, ideal for setting sail for new horizons!

A fruitful commitment 🍈

MobileThinking and CREA have been working together for a year now, and the collaboration is already bearing fruits.

Remember, Kevin had taken over as co-director of the Bachelor in Web and Application Development and Mattia was responsible for the module on mobile application development.

Well, that's still the case, they've even been joined by Dejan and Hassan who have been teaching mobile development/PWA, frontend and business courses for the first and third year Bachelors.
And that's not all : two of the staff who joined the adventure this year are actually students at CREA and have joined the team for an internship as part of their Bachelor's degree in Web and Application development. These two young recruits are Jules and Luka!

The projects and events that marked 2021

Happiness Agency - LilPulse

Happiness Agency's mission is to improve employee well-being. The LilPulse application, developed by MobileThinking, is the first in Switzerland to assess team well-being via a weekly survey. Managers can personalise the surveys and access the results to optimise team management.

JoHdi Suite - Eval

In February 2021, the team worked with Johdi to design Eval, an employee skills assessment tool. With the Eval tool, Human Resources can create personalised evaluation forms and manage evaluation campaigns within different departments. Both evaluators and evaluated employees receive email notifications to complete their evaluations and follow up on them. Evaluations are coloured and dated for easy management via a calendar, and administrators can view employee results as well as statistics on their population.

BenefitMe

We promised to come back to you very soon, and as promised, here's the latest news!

The BenefitMe project is almost ready, and the first customers are expected to arrive in early 2022. The team is looking forward to seeing the results of its collaboration with Loyco and Piguet Galland. For the record, BenefitMe emerged from a Design Sprint at MobileThinking, laying the foundations for this promising new company.

A new challenge in sight 🔭

As part of its digital transformation strategy, the Fondation des Parkings has launched an invitation to tender for a 4 or 5-year collaboration. The aim of the project is to centralise and harmonise the calculation of parking costs for the infrastructure managed by the Foundation, as well as for the public highway. Can you guess who won the tender?

Ok, the answer might be a bit obvious, we'll give you that 😉

MobileThinking was selected with the aim of supporting and developing what is known as the "Tariff Module".

The Tariff Module simplifies the calculation of parking charges, which were previously spread across several systems. It enables clear, tailor-made tariff assessments to be made, taking into account elements such as discounts or free hours. These assessments are then available on partner mobile applications and parking simulation websites.

The project began with design workshops with the Fondation des Parkings team to analyse and design the architecture of the module. Development took place in several stages, with weekly meetings to check progress and adjust functionalities.

Avenue H2020

The Avenue experience

Demonstration tests were carried out to validate the proper functioning of the application developed by MobileThinking for booking autonomous shuttles.

The tests carried out at Belle-Idée can be seen at the top left of the video.

Kevin, the new Knight of the Round Table!

As part of the 100% mobilité Grand Genève event, Kevin took part in a round-table discussion where he had the opportunity to present the Avenue project and discuss the mobility of tomorrow.

Among other things, he talked about the Avenue application developed for the project, emphasising the notion of Privacy by Design, which is essential for user services.

Among the participants were project partners Pierre Chewan from Navya and Jeroen Beukers from TPG, who shared their experience of user needs in the context of automated vehicle testing.

To be continued in the next episode ✨

The crew is already sailing off to new horizons and can't wait to meet up with you again for another journey through time.

So stay on board to discover the challenges and projects on the horizon for MobileThinking. Because the ocean is wide and the journey has only just begun. We hope to see you next month for the rest of the adventure!
