Le 28 - Docuthèque

Le 28

Le 28 is an information and promotion centre for careers in the health and social care sector. Managed by the OrTra and based in Geneva, the centre opened its doors in 2016 and offers free services to young people seeking professional guidance, adults undergoing retraining, teachers and careers advisers.

Its mission is to help people discover the diversity of careers in these sectors through themed events, interactive workshops, guided tours and inspiring encounters with professionals.

The client's initial need

Centralisation and modernisation of resources

Le 28 wanted to bring together in a single place all the useful information previously spread around the health and social care professions. The aim was to create a simple, modern, SEO-optimised digital platform that would become the essential source of information on these professions in French-speaking Switzerland.

Ease of editing and updating content

What was our approach ?

We began the project with a series of design workshops involving the teams from 28 and ourselves. These workshops established the foundations of the site by precisely defining the objectives, target audiences, navigation structure and types of content to be integrated, such as job descriptions, documentary resources and interactive elements. This collective work helped to establish a clear, shared vision from the very start.

The design phase was then carried out progressively, with several iterations necessary to reflect the values of the association and meet its expectations. The result is a site that is clear, easy to use and pleasant to navigate, in line with the centre's information mission while remaining accessible to a wide audience.

In terms of technical development, we decided to go with the Statamic Laravel framework, which offers a modular, intuitive and user-friendly back office for the 28 team. Finally, we carried out in-depth SEO optimisation work, in particular with the introduction of a dynamic sitemap that automatically adapts to new resources published on the platform.

Results

To help users discover health and social care professions, we have set up an interactive onboarding page. This interface offers a series of simple questions that enable users to build up a profile in an intuitive way. Depending on the answers, the platform automatically displays a selection of relevant job descriptions, offering a targeted, engaging experience tailored to each user's profile.

A large part of the development work has been devoted to the structure and layout of the job descriptions, which are the heart of the Docuthèque. By working on the organisation and clarity of the content, we have made these sheets rich, accessible and easy to consult, while making it easier for the 28 team to update them.

Each job description has been designed as a complete unit of information, organised in blocks.

A feature that allows users to add records as favourites. These favourites can then be saved in the form of a session, using a unique code that is generated automatically. This allows users to find their selection at any time, from any device, and even to share the code with an advisor or a friend or family member to make it easier to discuss a career plan.

In conclusion

The collaboration with the team Le 28 took place in a climate of trust that was constructive and very positive. All the way through the project, regular exchanges enabled us to move forward in a coherent way, aligning the customer's expectations with the technical solutions proposed.

This project was also an opportunity for us to build up our expertise in the Statamic CMS, exploring its possibilities in more depth and optimising its use, both technically and functionally. This experience enabled us to put in place an effective architecture tailored to the client's needs.

Feedbacks from the customer are very positive. The next stage of the project will focus on continuous improvement of natural search engine optimisation (SEO), monitoring changes in traffic levels, and regular maintenance and updates to ensure the long-term future and performance of the platform.
